Last year, Richa Chadha turned producer with the Punjabi short, Khoon Aali Chithi, a love story set against the backdrop of the '80s Khalistan movement. The production, which traces how the political turmoil affected the locals, has already travelled to several film festivals across the globe, garnering a positive response from viewers.
Ahead of the film’s release on digital platforms later this month, mid-day has learnt that Richa has roped in younger brother Pranav to create a suitable background score for the film. The actress says, “I wanted authentic Punjabi Punjabi folk music and thought of roping in my brother for it. He was really kicked with the idea and has done a fantastic job with the music. I really hope people will like his work.”
Talking about the “multi-faceted personality” of her brother, who makes his debut with the film, Richa adds, “He plays the piano, flute and guitar, and also knows how to sing.”
Meanwhile, the actress also plans to turn the short into a full-length feature film. “The premise makes for a feature-format narrative. Rupinder Inderjeet, who directed the original, will helm the project. ”
