Kicking off work on filmmaker Anubhav Sinha's wife Ratna's directorial debut, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, has clearly got Rajkummar Rao's creative juices flowing. The actor has penned a romantic poem for the film.

“There was a scene where my character is to recite a poem for Kriti's (co-star Kriti Kharbanda) character. To make my lines more interesting, I wove them into a poem. It was an impromptu effort, written with the belief that the poem would help me connect with the lines better. And I think it worked out quite well for the character and the scene,“ Rajkummar told Mirror, rattling off the lines, “Manzil ho tum, sapna ho tum, uparwale ki sabse khoobsurat kalpana ho tum.“

Produced by Vinod Bachchan and written by Kamal Pande, the romcom will be shot in Allahabad, Lucknow and Kanpur. “It's a journey of a commoner, a naive boy who becomes a headstrong, top-level government official after getting jilted in love,“ Raj revealed.

He added that his character finds a kindred spirit in Kriti's character who has also been unlucky in love and goes on to scale new heights in her own career as well. “How their paths cross and they find love together is the crux of the film,“ Rajkummar signed off.
