Aanand L Rai is known for his slice-of-life desi films that work well with the masses. After teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan for an upcoming film, his production banner is in advanced talks with Saif Ali Khan for a film.

Says a source from the production, “Aanand and Saif have met a couple of times and they have discussed a few scripts. Saif has really liked one of them and has given a go-ahead to the director for the same. It’s yet again a heartland film which gives out an interesting message in the end.”

But Aanand might not be at the helm of it at all. “His next with SRK goes on floors next month. The sets are erected in Film City and he will be extremely caught up with that ambitious film as it involves a lot of VFX work and SRK too has given bulk dates to him till the end of this year to finish the film. So Aanand might not direct Saif’s film, although he will be on board as one of the producers. The actor is also planning to co-produce the film under his own banner.”
