Mirror had earlier reported (Dec 6, 2016) that Kajol has been roped in to play Tamil actor-filmmaker Dhanush’s leading lady in the sequel to his 2014 Tamil action-drama Velaiyilla Pattathari (Unemployed Graduate) aka VIP.

The 42-year-old actress sent out an alliteratively cryptic tweet on Thursday, “Chennai, chatting, chairs. Tongue twister Tamil ?”, signalling that she has kicked off work on the film.

Now, we have learnt that the actress is in Chennai to shoot for the film in a 20-25-day schedule and will be flitting in and out of the Bay through it.

For the sequel, while Dhanush’s sister-in-law Soundarya has taken over as director from Velraj, the actor will reprise his role from the first part. He has also written the story and dialogues of the sequel.

Kajol was last seen in a Tamil film essaying the role of Priya Amalraj in Rajiv Menon’s 1997 National Award-winning romance-drama, Minsara Kanavu (Electrifying Dreams). She played Arvind Swamy’s love interest in the film which also featured Prabhudheva and Girish Karnad.
