Ashmit Patel is a busy man these days; juggling his television show, movies and now deejaying. In an informal chat, the actor opens about his upcoming projects, his love for deejaying and more...

After Murder and Inteha, your next is also a psychological thriller...
Yes, I am doing Red Affair with Manjari Fadnis and Arbaaz Khan. It's not about the genre, the script should be good. Cinema has changed a lot; now, there is more scope to play slice-of-life characters. I am also doing a comedy satire Raju Ban Gaya Lakhpati. Incidentally, the script revolves around demonetization. I am impressed how the team came up with the idea after the country was affected by it, and I will play the lead character in the film.

You are also doing a TV show...
It's a great honour to be working with Shabana Azmi in Amma. Also, my character has been etched well; when they narrated it to me, it sounded more like a film.

Over the past few years you were seen doing reality shows, what else kept you busy?
There may have been a lull in my acting career, but I was always around. I pursued deejaying, which I wanted to try since childhood. Percussionist Shahbaz DrumBoodha and I perform gigs across the world now. While Mumbai is open to international music, popular numbers and pop music are in demand wherever we go. I have performed in Dubai, Sydney, Brisbane and internationally, too, Bollywood numbers are quite a hit. I also play Electronic music like Techno and House depending on the club requirements.
