In the last two years. Salman Khan’s choices as an actor have evolved. He isn’t just picking mindless commercial Hindi films but he’s carefully choosing content-driven films which are more like mainstream cinema today.
Salman’s done a humane drama like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and followed it up with a family drama like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and an action entertainer like Sultan. He’s currently shooting for Kabir Khan’s Tubelight, which is a period action romance set in the 1960s and has the slick action thriller Tiger Zinda Hai lined up after that.
But what does he want to do next? Salman has the answer. “I want to do a comedy next. I love the genre and although it looks easy, it’s the most difficult genre of films. It’s not an easy task to make the audiences laugh. You know it’s very easy to love a heroine, do some romantic dances here and there or beat up 50 people and the crowd will cheer. But comedy is difficult.”
His last comedy film was Ready that released in 2011. And he says he has been on the lookout for a comedy film ever since. Salman reveals, “Yes, I’m trying to find something, but I am not getting a film like that. Once I get a film, which makes me laugh when I’m hearing it, then I will do it for sure. Ready was a film that actually made me laugh during the narration. After that, I have not heard a script like that.”
