MUMBAI MIRROR (December 21, 2016)

Ranbir Kapoor's excitement to play Sanjay Dutt in the Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic is marked with a certain degree of self-doubt. “I'm starting the shoot next month. It is a very difficult film. To represent Sanjay Dutt and work with Raju Hirani...I don't even think I deserve this film. But, I am looking forward to working on it,“ the 34-year-old actor admitted while interacting with the media in Mumbai recently.

With award season upon us, Ranbir is up for several nominations in the Best Actor category for his performance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. However, he believes he doesn't deserve to win any award this season. “I don't think I deserve to win this year. There have been superior performances than mine, Amitji's (Pink), Salman Khan's (Sultan), Sushant's (Singh Rajput, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story). They've given some wonderful performances and are far more deserving than I am,“ he said.

The biopic marks RK's re union with Saawariya co star Sonam Kapoor. It also features Anushka Sharma as a scribe and Akshaye Khanna as Sunil Dutt. It's set to hit the floors in 2017.
