There is one month to go in 2016 and three releases in BEFIKRE, WAJAH TUM HO and DANGAL which can contribute to the overall pie and 400 crore nett is needed to beat the total of last year and this is a realistic possibility though 530 crore nett is needed to beat the best year ever (2013) in terms of yearly combined collections for Hindi films. A 400 crore nett combined total from BEFIKRE, WAJAH TUM HO and DANGAL will see last years total matched in terms of NETT collections but the GROSS collections will edge past last year as there were higher taxes this year due to some changes made mid last year. The cumulative NETT business of the last five years is as follows.
2012 - 2383.13 crore (35.63%)
2013 - 2790.04 crore (+17.08%)
2014 - 2740.72 crore (-1.79%)
2015 - 2660.89 crore (-2.88%)
2016 - 2261.47 crore (n/a)

This year has seen limited rises in ticket prices compared to last three years as it will be just a 3-4% rise compared to the norm of 5-10% over the last few years. Even the rates at which DANGAL is shown at will not be much higher than PK which was Aamir Khan's last film in 2014 and that film had hiked rates considerable at most places.
