In what can only be described as a completely unusual pairing, Shruti Haasan and Rajkummar Rao will come together for the first time in a romantic comedy titled Behen Hogi Teri, produced by Amul Vikas Mohan, Tony D’Souza and Nitin Upadhyaya. At the helm is Ajay K Pannalal, who has directed a few hit Punjabi films.

BHT sees the ‘serious cinema’-type Rao go full-on commercial. A source explains the choice, “The film is based in Lucknow and Rajkummar has the right look and feel that fits the main character. Shruti has an incredible role, too. Moreover, the two have never been cast together before. Obviously, the filmmakers are excited.”

Says Mohan, “BHT is a fun film with a big heart. We have spent a lot of time getting the story right because that’s our number-one priority. We were lucky to get a great cast which we are sure will really surprise and entice the audiences. Shooting begins in December.”

Behen Hogi Teri will have a tight schedule that will wrap up by January 2017.
