Mirror had earlier reported (October 17) about composer-singer Shankar Mahadevan judging the upcoming reality show on Colors, Rising Star. Now, we have learnt that Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh who made his Bollywood debut in Abhishek Chaubey’s drugs-drama Udta Punjab in June has come onboard too. “Singing is more of a passion for me than profession which I have been nurturing for the last 11 years. The show is an enabler through which I hope to share my passion with the country’s budding talent,” Diljit told Mirror about his Hindi telly debut, adding that he believes its critical to have a good voice as well as a performer’s personality.
Diljit is all praise for his co-judge. “I am excited to collaborate with a superlative singer like Shankar Mahadevan for such a unique concept. The show’s format is really intriguing,” he told Mirror.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Punjabi star’s next Bollywood project is Anushka Sharma’s home production, Phillauri, in which he will be seen sharing screen space with the actress-filmmaker. “It was wonderful working with Anushkaji and the team. She is a great co-star and producer,” Diljit signs off.
