Mirror (August 25) was the
first to report that Ayushmann Khurrana will feature in Ashwiny Iyer
Tiwari's Bareilly Ki Barfi with Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao. The cast
began shooting for the romantic comedy in October in Lucknow where the
32-year-old actor has been enjoying the hospitality of the city of
Nawabs even as he grapples with minor health issues.
“I have been under the weather. However, to give my throat some relief, the owners of the house that we are shooting in feed me desi ghee ka halwa every day. It helps with the itchy throat. The neighbours bring me home-made khichdi. I am loving every bit of it,“ says Ayushmann whose character owns a printing press in the film while Raj is an author and Kriti plays a liberated, forward-thinking UP girl.
While speaking to Mirror earlier, Kapil Chopra from BR Studios, who is producing the film with Junglee Pictures had revealed the reason behind the quirky title.“It's a fun film. Kriti's family owns a mithai shop and that's where the story takes off. I always say Kriti is my Bareilly Ki Barfi in the film.“
Mirror has learnt that Ayushmann's health issues came in the way of shooting of the film's climax sequence but the actor-musician went ahead and gave his shot. Incidentally, he was also suffering from a similar throat infection while shooting for the climax sequence of his previous film with Bhumi Pednekar. Wonder if coming down with a sore throat while shooting crucial scenes is Ayushmann's lucky charm.
