Finally, the top authorities in the country have spoken, and it brings a breeze of good news for filmmaker Karan Johar. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt, the President of The Film And Television Producers Guild of India, after a meeting in Delhi on Thursday, that theatres across the country will be provided ample protection against those planning to vandalise cinemas playing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Bhatt, minutes after his meeting with the Home Minister, told BT, “Karan couldn't make it to the meeting because he had to deliver the copies of the movie for the overseas market. But I made the first call to him after my meeting with Rajnathji. Karan was moved to tears. You have no idea what that man is going through. He was relieved to know that Rajnath Singh has assured support, and that he will talk to all the chief ministers to provide protection to all the cinemas playing ADHM. Rajnathji has assured the industry that Karan's film will have its run and no one will be allowed to ruin Diwali celebrations. Anyone found muddling, will be heavily penalised.“

Mukesh Bhatt, President of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, on Thursday, along with singer - MP Babul Supriyo, Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta and Fox Star Studio CEO Vijay Singh, met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi to discuss the release of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which has been in the eye of the storm for featuring Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Imran Abbas. Speaking to Mirror immediately after the meeting, Bhatt said, “We haven't done anything outside the purview of the law and the government is supporting the film. The Home Minister has assured us that every multiplex owner and single screen owner will get complete protection against agitators. He will personally send out a message to every Chief Minister across the country to see that the film is released with out violence. Strict action will be taken against those who resort to violence.“

However, Bhatt admittedly supports the decision to not hire Pakistani talent in future but argues that the projects that have already been competed shouldn't be caught in the current crossfire. “We took talent from across the border because the scenario was different at that time, now we have learnt that we should not engage ourselves with a neighbour country that has stabbed us in the back,“ he reasons.

He added that he has been meeting a “frightened“ KJo every day. “He's vulnerable and scared, anybody who has invested 100 crore in a film will be scared. People who are being judgemental about his recent statement don't have their money at stake. If his film doesn't release, he will be on the streets,“ Bhatt thundered. The Home Minister is expected to arrive in Mumbai on Friday and KJo is trying to arrange for a meeting with him but Mirror has learnt that a decision on whether it will happen had not been taken at the time of going to press.
