Right from Kajol and Rani Mukerji in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Kareena Kapoor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Preity Zinta in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Alia Bhatt in Student Of The Year, every actress in his movies has made a style statement of sorts. His upcoming Diwali release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) is no different.

Ever since the first teaser was launched, film buffs can't stop raving about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, who look fabulous in this romantic drama. Whether it's the title track, Channa Mereya or Bulleya, the actresses have got viewers going gaga over them.

Karan, meanwhile, admits that he had been dying to work with Aishwarya. Elaborating why she was perfect for ADHM, he says, “Aishwarya's character in the film is not only extremely solid but also new for her. An exceptionally unusual mainstream part for any female actor in the country...her poise and abandon has made Saba (her character) immensely aspirational.“

All praises for Anushka, he adds, “She is the most unaffected and real person in the business. She has a rare ability of combining cinematic projection with nuance as an actor. Her effortlessness and flair make her character extremely relatable and loveable.“
