Rohit Shetty's 2008
directorial, Golmaal Returns, may have been a blockbuster, but the
director candidly describes it as a crap film. The comedy, featuring Ajay
Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi was a part of
the hit franchise Golmaal.
He admits he gets a 'feeling' when things are going wrong. “My films are hardcore commercial films catering to a particular audience and you start getting that feeling that it won't work at that level. I have been right about this, twice or thrice,“ he reveals.
This is followed by a post mortem of sorts on what went wrong and how not to repeat the mistakes. “Even if it is a hit, the whole team sits together and we introspect. Golmaal Returns was the biggest hit of 2008 but we knew, it was a crap film,“ he said.
He went on to add that in Singham Returns, the character went wrong while in Dilwale the whole Kajol-Shah Rukh story was wrong. “You get to know where you are going wrong, then rectify things and move forward,“ Shetty signed off.
