Remembering Kurdi is a 64 minute documentary by Saumyananda Sahi that tells the tale of a Goan village that is now submerged after a dam was built in 1985. The documentary throws light on the residents of this erstwhile village and how even after 30 years they still miss their land and even make a visit to Kurdi when the water levels are low. The most surprising bit in the film is about the compensation they received. One can feel the pain the villagers must have gone through as they narrate their ordeal, sometimes even with a smile. The documentary is a bit dry at places but overall, it made for a nice watch. The Q & A session post the film with Saumyananda Sahi was brief but quite interesting.
