From playing cards to gorging on sweets, this is how B-Town is celebrating the festival of lights
Nayandeep Rakshit (DNA; October 30, 2016)
Diwali is a time to let your hair down and bond with family and friends. While work keeps B-Town celebs busy through the year, we wondered how they’re bringing in the festive season. We got some stars to spill their Diwali plans....
Sushant Singh Rajput
Every year, I make sure that I am with my family. But this time, I will stay back as my next Takkadum goes on floors soon and I’ll have to start prep.
Jacqueline Fernandez
This Diwali, I’m going to be attending a few parties and attempting to play cards also.
Sooraj Pancholi
I am going to my Goa house for Diwali and will spend time with the sea and sky.
Tamannaah Bhatia
This Diwali, I am going to spend time with my family. Like we do every year, we will go to Mahalakshmi temple at night after all the poojas are done and seek blessings of the goddess. I had stopped bursting crackers at a young age when I discovered how those crackers were made using child labour and also understood how it caused harm to the environment. I’d like to appeal to everyone that this Diwali please avoid crackers as much as you can...
Athiya Shetty
Diwali is a celebration of being grateful for what you have, and adding light and happiness to people’s lives! It is the time when a family gets to spend time together, enjoy food. I’m half-South Indian and half-Punjabi, so I get the best of both worlds. There will be pooja at home, which is always so happy and positive. Also, I like to have a sound-free Diwali because of my dogs. They get really scared with the noise made my firecrackers.
Harshvardhan Rane
This Diwali, I feel like celebrating the festival for the first time ever since I ran away from home at the age of 16. This has been a good year in many ways. I am going to show my love and respect towards this festival by wearing a traditional kurta in the house.
Disha Patani
I am going to eat a lot of sweets this Diwali. Also, I love decorating my house, so I will be spending time doing that.
Kartik Aaryan
I always try to celebrate Diwali with my family, but sadly I won’t be able to do so this year as I am shooting in London. I have a few college friends in London with whom I will celebrate the festival and eat great food. It will be like a small college reunion.
Rhea Chakraborty
I’m spending quality time with with my mother, while she makes amazing made ladoos and snacks at home. My job is to simply give feedback. I will be attending some amazing card parties. I love making rangoli and my favourite part is lighting diyas in the whole house.
