It’s a long set tradition that Aamir Khan releases his films on the Christmas weekend and the trailer of his films come out during Diwali every year. But this time, for Dangal, the first trailer of his film will be launched pre-Diwali — mere days before the festival.

Says a source, “Last week, Aamir showed the film to a few of his very close friends to know their reactions and their positive response prompted him to have a screening of the trailer a week before it hits the screens with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay on Diwali. He feels if his trailer is seen for the first time with these two films, it will get diluted. While he will get eyeballs with its theatrical release with these two films, Aamir wants more. The trailer will first be launched at a grand event and across social media and then in the theatres.”

Aamir likes to release his trailers during the Festival of Lights because he believes that it has been lucky for him. The trailers of the actor’s past few films were released on Diwali including Taare Zameen Par, 3 Idiots, Ghajini, Dhoom 3 and PK.
