Vir Das is all set to join the ranks of Hollywood's veteran comedians. The actor funnyman has been roped in by Netflix USA for a special show on Comedy Originals that has previously featured Louis CK, Aziz Ansari, Russell Peters and Kevin Hart, among others. The show will help Vir reach out to an international audience across over 190 countries.

“In the last four years, the streaming web site has produced original comedy specials with the world's top 15 comedians. I will now have an original too called the Vir Das Comedy Special. The shoot is on October 9 in Delhi,“ the actor informed Mirror, adding that he's has been writing as much as he can since the past six-seven months.

So what can his global audience expect from him in terms of content? “This will be the first time an Indian comedian is exposed to such a huge audience. The Indian accent has served as a punch line globally for too long. I look forward to showing them the Indian perspective. It will be about what India thinks of the world as opposed to the other way round,“ Vir asserts, adding that the content'll be a mix of personal anecdotes and current affairs.

It's a two-hour show with a mix of social themes like gun violence in America, social media and social behaviour, peppered with nuggets from his life like how he met his wife, Shivani Mathur, the idea of starting a family, and his first kiss, intersperses a world view with a personal one.

Taking on a platform previously graced by people he admires is like a dream come true for Vir. “I'm a fan of Aziz Ansari and Kevin Hart but had never imagined that I'd figure on a list with them. I'm as nervous and excited as I get before every show, doesn't matter if it's for 100 people or 10, 000,“ he signs off.
