Ravi Jadhav, who is a renowned Marathi filmmaker, opens his Bollywood innings with Banjo, a Riteish Deshmukh-Nargis Fakhri-starrer. With his foray into Hindi films, it needed to be asked which of his popular Marathi movies he would like remade into Hindi — like A R Murugadoss did with Ghajini and Prabhudheva did with Wanted, when they wooed B-Town.

Ravi says skeptically, “Balgandharva, which starred Subodh Bhave, will be difficult to remake since it is more about Maharashtrian culture, but I might do it at a later time. Then again, I think, ‘Why should I remake the same old movie?’ I have already experienced what it is like to work on that subject once. I’d rather attempt something new.”

But Balgandharva remains a subject unique enough for B-Town. And if Ravi won’t, some other director might take it up. Who’d he suggest to play the title role? Pat comes the reply, “Ranbir Kapoor.”
