"He is a trained dancer and knows all his leg muscles. Given a chance, he will start walking and even running soon,” says Shruti Haasan about her superstar father, Kamal Haasan, who is recuperating after undergoing a leg surgery. The legend fractured his right leg after falling down the stairs of his office in Chennai where the second schedule of his trilingual film, Sabash Naidu, (his first with daughter Shruti) was supposed to begin.

The shoot was indefinitely postponed, but Shruti tells us it will commence by mid-November, with Haasan Sr on the road to recovery. “My father has gone through a physical ordeal that cannot be fathomed, yet he has recovered against all odds. He isn’t limping anymore,” she says.

The actress adds that around 30 per cent of the film remains to be shot. “We are just waiting for him to recover fully,” she adds.

Ask her how the delay has caused losses and she shakes her head, saying, “I don’t think there is going to be any loss. But, I am not sure if the film’s release will be delayed. I guess only my father can answer that question.”

Shruti adds that she often warns the veteran star against performing stunts, but in vain. “As a daughter, I have tried often and requested him to slow down, but he is very passionate about his work and will go to any length to get a perfect shot.”
