Even though his injured thumb hasn't fully recovered, Saif Ali Khan has started preparing for his next, Chef. The actor will train under an executive chef of one of Mumbai's five-star hotels for the next few weeks before he starts shooting for the movie early October.

Currently, Saif is learning knife skills, kitchen etiquette and cooking techniques required for the dishes that will be displayed as part of his act. And apart from rolling and making fresh pasta and learning skills required for using a wok, the actor is also excited about learning high-end plating of the dishes.

Raja Krishna Menon, who's helming the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film, Chef, is overseeing the prep exercise with his lead actor and his fellow onscreen chefs. He says, “It is crucial to imbibe the body language and the etiquette expected in a professional kitchen. Starting with knife skills, to creating dishes from scratch and kitchen hygiene, Saif is being trained by the best in the business. I can see him transforming into a quality chef with each session.“
