Kareena Kapoor's 36th birthday brought together almost the entire Kapoor khandaan with a few Khans too, including a hip Sara

Kareena Kapoor, who has been wearing her baby bump with pride, brought in her 36th birthday with a select only-family and close friends dinner at her Bandra residence on Wednesday night. "We're a noisy family of foodies," exclaimed dad Randhir Kapoor, ruing the fact that his brother, Rishi and Rajeev, couldn't make it. "There are so many of us all over the country that it's impossible to bring us all together under one roof, but quite a few of us turned up to wish Bebo good health. We cannot wait for her child to come along, I'm going to spoil my grandchild!"

The camaraderie the 69-year-old actor-filmmaker shares with his nawab son-in-law was evident when he revealed that every time he raves about how well Bebo, a wonderful daughter and a dignified woman, has balanced her personal and professional life, Saif (Ali Khan) is the first to point out that she's a better wife than a daughter. He added with a laugh that while his blessings are enough, Saif pampers his begum with jewels and luxury getaways.

Shashi Kapoor's son Kunal and grandson Zahan walked in with a clutch of pink, blue and white balloons for the birthday girl while besties, Amrita and Malaika Arora, brought the chocolate cake. Bebo's aunt Reema was also there with husband Manoj Jain with sons, Armaan and Adaar, so was cousin Ranbir and sister Karisma. But the Kapoor who made heads turn even within the family was Shashi's other son, the Brit and beautiful Karan who is in the city for his debut photography exhibition. Amrita admits that she couldn't stop staring at the gorgeous former model and got her fan-girl moment with her teenage crush. Saif's daughter, Sara, also made heads turn in hiphugging denims and a lacy white crop top which showed off her sexy midriff. Aunt Soha was also there with her hubby Kunal Kemmu.

"Kareena is one of the most beautiful people I know," raved Kareena's friend and manager Poonam Damania who was also at the party. "She's a family person and loves spending time with her close ones."

Poonam too had her fan-girl moment with Ranbir Kapoor who obliged her with a jadoo ki jhappi as he posed for the album. His upcoming film, Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was the hot topic of discussion with everybody predicting the fate of the film till Bebo decided to have the last word, reiterating that even if her brother gave 25 flops, he'd still be a superstar! RK, who turns 34 on September 28, stayed back late, sipping wine and inviting everyone to a party at his new home next week.

Meanwhile, two of Kareena's largest fan clubs - KareenaK_FC and KareenaOnline - boasting of over a million fans based in the US, South Africa, Australia and Bangladesh, are planning to fly down to Mumbai to meet the actress for a post-birthday celebration. Another Twitter fan, @ishab26, has named a star in the Orion constellation after the birthday girl.

Saif, meanwhile, has planned a getaway with his begum to Dubai next week. The two will hit the beach, go for a spa and indulge in retail therapy before Bebo starts shooting for Veere Di Wedding in mid-October. This will be their last getaway before Baby Khan arrives.
