KJo throws in the towel; his 'students' Varun, Alia and Sidharth, along with Sonakshi, roll up their sleeves to measure up

When it comes to social media shenanigans, Ranveer Singh is quite the quintessential tease. After taking to the streets of Bandra to prance around as Krrish in broad daylight for Hrithik Roshan's Bang Bang challenge in 2014, he proved he had another ace up his sleeve when Rustom actor Akshay Kumar came knocking with a similar challenge. When Akki asked him to be a part of the countdown to the film's release, Ranveer had him send over his naval uniform from the film. What happened next is stuff of online legend.

The Bajirao Mastani actor who was in a dubbing session at a Khar studio, had a brainwave between takes to transform into a uniform-clad 'Chhupa Rustom' and shoot a one-take video in the building's basement using the 8mm vintage camera app on his iPhone.

And the piece de resistance of Ranveer's ode to Akki is him shaking a leg to the latter's 'Zeher Hai Ki Pyar Hai Tera Chumma' from his 1995 film, Sabse Bada Khiladi. The video (above; right), shared on Ranveer's Twitter handle, went viral immediately, with Karan Johar, the next celebrity in line for the challenge, happily throwing in the towel as he noted that he couldn't top Ranveer's act but could certainly pout better than him.

Now, we hear KJo's students, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, along with Sonakshi Sinha, are up next for the challenge and they are reportedly leaving no stone unturned to ace their respective acts with Ranveer having set a really high benchmark. Given the new gen of actors' propensity for viral content, we're sure this merry bunch is about to hit the ball out of the park as well. And no one is more delighted that 'Officer' Akshay who found Ranveer's contribution to his promotional drive for the I-Day release impressive and hysterically funny.
