As Farhan Akhtar, Uday Benegal, Vishal Dadlani, Vasudha Sharma, Clinton Cerejo and several other artists get ready to serve meals to half a million underprivileged Indians and Pakistanis, teams of volunteers in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai will croon the Mission 500k anthem, titled “Realign“, composed and sung by the celebrity bunch. The singing volunteers, brought together by Vh1, form the Robin Hood Army ­ an organisation that works to channelise surplus food from restaurants towards feeding the lesser fortunate sections in cities of both the countries. Spread across 30 cities now, the army consists of 5215 volunteers who have served over six lakh people so far. The volunteers are largely young working professionals from varied fields. In a first of its kind initiative, the army will use social media to spread the word and inspire millions to volunteer.

“The Robin Hood Army's desire to feed half a million people across India and Pakistan this year on their respective Independence Days is an effort I wholeheartedly support. I appeal to people everywhere to participate in this incredible initiative to help eradicate hunger and malnutrition. It's our world. We have to make it better,“ Farhan Akhtar asserted.
