His cousin Sonam Kapoor is synonymous with high fashion while his dear friend Ranveer Singh's quirky outfits and antics make him stand apart. Ask Arjun Kapoor if having such trendsetters as family and friends ex erts pressure on him and he nonchalantly replies, “Just because I come from a family where Sonam is into fashion, doesn't mean that I have to be a style icon. My sisters do complain but some are chosen to be a style icon and some are not. I wear whatever my stylist gives me, I prefer comfort over fashion.“

Rating personality over clothes, he elaborates, “When you see Ranveer on the red carpet, you don't understand what he is wearing but he carries himself off so well that his outfits start making sense. He wears them unabashedly and has fun.“ Arjun, however, feels that his uncle Anil Kapoor is the trendiest. “I think Anil chachu is the most fashionable person be cause of his personality,“ he concludes.
