On July 27, Huma Qureshi took to social media to wish her friend, actress Kriti Sanon happy birthday. “Travel day, work day, bird day,“ she tweeted. Huma, who turned 30 a day later, did just that on Thursday.

She began her day “overwhelmed by gratitude“ as she rode to a promotional event in the city. “As I drive to work, I cannot help but feel so blessed. This city, this life has given me so much!“ she exclaimed.

Her debut Malyalam film, White, releases today and she couldn't wait for people to see it and have them share their thoughts with her. Mirror learnt that the birthday girl hosted a screening of the film for her parents who flew down from Delhi to bring in the day with her. A few special friends were invited too. Conspicuous by his absence was brother and flatmate, Saqib Saleem, who is in London, shooting Vashu Bhagnani's upcoming film with Taapsee Pannu.

Saqib posted a picture of the two of them together with Huma looking gloomy, saying, “You are the joy of my life ­ best sister, best friend ­ one can ever have. You make me who I am. Love you!“
