Anushka Sharma has not formed a hit jodi with any
actor. While she doesn’t have that, she has something better. She isn’t
tied down to any one male actor. She has amazing chemistry with everyone
from her first co-star Shah Rukh Khan to her latest co-star Salman
Khan.
She even works well with female co-stars — from Parineeti Chopra in Ladies Vs Vicky Bahl to Katrina Kaif in Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Priyanka Chopra in Dil Dhadakne Do. Later this year, she will be seen with Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. But she hasn’t done a chick flick yet.
She explains, “I am not against two-heroine films. Of course, I would love to do a chick flick sometime soon. I would love to do a film with strong female characters — when I say strong, I don’t mean that they are changing the world, but just be real women. Men are simple, but women are more complex and their relationship with one another is very interesting and we have not explored that as yet. I would love to maybe generate that kind of content in the future. I was ecstatic when Udta Punjab was received very well. When the roles are not equal, no actor wants to be part of it. As a writer, you have to have your characters bang-on. One character may be doing greater things but if their characterisation is correct, anybody would be interested in that. UP is a great example of this. There are four big stars doing the film and they did it because each character was so well-written and adding equally to the narration of the film.”
