Ayear ago, there was news
about director Vijay Krishna Acharya's (Tashan, Dhoom 3) plans for his
next film, Thug starring Hrithik Roshan. Later, there were media reports
that Amitabh Bachchan had joined the cast. Roshan and Bachchan were
last seen together on screen in Lakshya (2004). So this seemed like a
casting coup. Now, our sources indicate that Bachchan has reportedly
opted out of Thug due to the project being postponed.
A Bollywood insider reveals that the studio backing this film has pushed it ahead a few times.Roshan is currently busy with his home production, Kaabil. And apparently, the script is also undergoing a minor re-writing.
Rumours within the fraternity are rife that since Bachchan has a packed schedule ahead of him, he couldn't wait any longer for the new film to take off. After Pink, Big B is reportedly committed to start work on Aankhen 2. He has also signed projects with R Balki and Sujoy Ghosh, both of which are expected to roll in 2017.
The studio spokesperson maintained they haven't made any announcement on this film.
