In a unique gesture for fan groups in Indore, Ajay Devgn has decided to launch the trailer of Shivaay in their midst on August 7. Since the event coincides with Friendship Day, the star felt it was the most apt way to strengthen his bond with fans. Says a source, “The Indore-based fan group is one of the largest and extremely active. They are constantly in touch with Devgn and had been requesting him to go there for a meet and greet event. So, while planning the trailer launch, he decided to do it in Indore.”

After Devgn conveyed his decision to the fans, they went into a tizzy. They have started preparations to welcome him. A lot of his fan groups from other parts of Madhya Pradesh will also be part of the trailer launch.

Adds the source, “Since most trailer launches are held at five-star hotels in Mumbai or Delhi, he felt this was an innovative way to reach out to cine lovers in what is, arguably, a first for Bollywood. It’s going to be a show of strength with fans expected to turn up in thousands.” At the event, he will also introduce his co-star, newcomer Sayyeshaa Sehgal, who happens to be the grandniece of veteran actress Saira Banu.

Shivaay, which hits theatres this Diwali, has Devgn in triple capacity as producer, director and actor.

Says Devgn, “I decided to meet my fans in Indore for the trailer launch as they have been persistent and invited me to their city. I wish I could simultaneously be with all my fans in other cities too… you never know.”
