Fresh off a pre-birthday getaway to Israel with her mum, Sunita Kapoor, Sonam can't help but gush about the experience.
"Israel is beautiful and exciting. I was thrilled because it was my first time there. I found everything about Jerusalem, its culture, the beautiful alleys, markets, and the people really fascinating. The Dead Sea was an out-ofthe-world experience. I hope to go back there soon," the 31-year-old actress told Mirror.
Sonam was in the Middle Eastern country for a photoshoot and extended her trip to meet the Director General, Israel Ministry of Tourism, Amir Halevi and the Director, Israel Ministry of Tourism India, Hassan Madah. The actress and her mother also explored religious sites in Jerusalem, taking in the old world charm that blended in with the city's modernity. "Ancient alleyways tell tales spanning thousands of years. The Mahane Yehuda market and the Tower of David Light and Sound Show, home to the Jerusalem Light Festival, were also a part of our itinerary. I missed my Rhee (younger sister Rhea)," Sonam added.
During the four-day visit, they also took a detour to the picturesque Tel Aviv-Yafo harbour, along the eastern Mediterranean coastline, with remnants of ancient storefronts, unique street art and also shopped at the city's famous street markets. They also explored Tel Aviv, known for its Bauhaus architecture, contemporary museums, and stylish beaches.
Sonam was pleasantly surprised to discover a fan following in Israel and obliged fans with selfies. The actress signs off with an advice for people bitten by wanderlust. "One must explore Israel's diversity and visit archaeological sites of Eilat and the beautiful beaches of Haifa. The nightlife here is fun!"
