Producer Rhea Kapoor has been waiting to kickstart her maiden directorial venture — a chick flick, tentatively titled Veeray Di Shaadi, starring four girls. With Kareena Kapoor Khan confirming to us that she is in talks for playing one of the girls, Rhea, who turns director with the film, gets ready to start shooting by July.

In the beginning, there was only talk of Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor being confirmed as the leads. However, says a source, “Katrina was never formally offered the film. There were only initial talks but it never materialised.” Huma, too, was approached, but she decided to opt out of the film.

Reveals our source, “Rhea wants a powerful team of actresses and she feels Kareena will suit the bill perfectly. Kareena has not signed anything post Udta Punjab and this will possibly be her next film. Talks are on and an announcement will be made formally very soon. In all probability, it will indeed be Bebo and Sonam saath-saath.”

When contacted, Bebo texted back, confirming that she’s approached for the role. “I am thinking about it,” she messaged.

Adds our source, “Swara Bhaskar plays the third friend. For the character of the fourth girl in the all-girl group, the makers have finalised Tiku Talsania’s daughter Shikha Talsania (best known for her role in Wake Up Sid). While Sonam and Bebo play the leads, Swara and Shikha will be the supporting leads.”
