While his upcoming Tamil gangster drama Kabali awaits its release, superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly jetted off on a brief holiday to the US with his family. “Having recently completed a schedule of Shankar's 2.0, Rajinikanth decided to take a much needed break to rejuvenate and resume shooting from June. He's expected to stay in the US for nearly two weeks and return in the second week to join the sets again,“ a source close to the 65-year old veteran actor revealed. Rajinikanth plays an ageing gangster in the film which hits the marquee on July 1. The film is said to be based on the real-life story of a Chennai-based don.

In Shankar's sci-fi 2.0, a sequel to the actor-director duo's last hit outing, Enthiran, the 65-year-old veteran returns as the popular scientist, Vaseegaran, and robot, Chitti, and will be seen locking horns with Akshay Kumar, who plays the antagonist in the film. The sequel also features Amy Jackson in a prominent role.
