Nimrat Kaur who has been
filming for the second season of M Night Shyamalan's TV show Wayward
Pines in Vancouver since March is looking forward to the season premiere
which goes on air on Wednesday. “The most interesting part of the
show is that it is set in a post-apocalyptic town, 2000 years into the
future. It's a scifi thriller with a volatile, warped reality,“ the
Airlift actress explains.
Paired opposite American film and TV actor Jason Patric, Nimrat plays an architect, Rebecca. “We have some really intense scenes together as a couple. It would be best described as a love story in the middle of mayhem. There are lots of secrets and mysteries in our relationship. Jason has around 30 years of acting experience and is very sharp when it comes to grasping a scene, suggesting different ways in which it can be shot. As an actor that makes the job even more exciting,“ Nimrat gushes.
Having spent four months in Vancouver, the actress reveals she pretty much feels like a local now. “It took me 22 hours to land in Vancouver. I was terrified initially but now I'm in love with the city. I've signed up for Pilates and yoga when I'm not shooting. My assistant, Madison, is a national-level skiing champion. People in this city are so fit that it motivates me. Sometimes I just go hiking,“ she informs, adding that last week when there was a break she took off on a camping trip.
It was an impromptu plan by Madison. Nimrat admits she was never the athletic sort but has always loved travelling. “Madison convinced me to go on a trek. It was a liberating feeling as we camped across valleys and gauges,“ she says. “The most interesting was the Redwood park where Jurassic Park was shot. The trees there date back to 3000 years and I was visibly awestruck.“
