Will Khan make a special appearance on his friend Anil Kapoor’s show, which he’s launching next month

Enlarge ImageHe may already have made his mark on the small screen with Satyamev Jayate, but Aamir Khan has yet to be part of a TV series. That might change if he agrees to do a walk-on part in the second season of his buddy Anil Kapoor’s 24, which airs on Colors.

Says a source from the channel, “Aamir remains one of the most vocal supporters for 24: Season 2. He will launch the show along with Anil at a press conference scheduled in the first week of June.”

The source adds, that apart from attending the launch, Anil is also keen that Aamir play a cameo in the serial. “Talks are on and Aamir has shown interest, but the perfectionist that he is, he will thoroughly review each aspect before making a commitment. If time permits and he takes it up, the show will become even bigger,” says the source. Anil and Aamir’s friendship stretches back 17 years, when they first acted together (in 1999, in Mann). Moreover, each respects the other’s opinions and they often bounce off creative ideas off each other. In fact, Anil who is very secretive about 24: Season 2, even showed Aamir some rushes of the show. An excited Aamir was heard heaping praise on the show thereafter.

Anil’s children, Sonam, Rhea and Harshvardhan are also excited about it as well.

Yeh dosti hum na todenge
When Anil hosted a birthday bash last year, Aamir attended it. Prior to that, when Aamir’s wife Kiran had a party on his 50th birthday, Anil attended it with Sunita. They meet in London, attend book launches together (Biren Kothari’s Sagar Movietone). Aamir was the surprise guest at the post-premiere party of Slumdog Millionaire in Mumbai.
