The Kumar family paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Gulshan Kumar in a nostalgic musical evening called 'Suron Ke Rang' last year, which was organised by T-Series honcho Bhushan Kumar. Top actors and musicians of the industry came together for the event to commemorate Gulshanji. At the event, Tulsi Kumar sang the special tribute song Mere Papa for the first time ever, which was composed by Jeet Gannguli and penned by Manoj Muntashir. “It was a personal song dedicated to my papa, which struck a chord with everyone,“ she said. On Friday, the Kumar family got together at a suburban multiplex for the launch of the song's music video that is directed by Rajeev Khandelwal and features Tulsi and her sister Khushali Kumar. It was only befitting that Bollywood's hit daddy-daughter jodi, Anil and Sonam Kapoor grace the occasion. The song left people in the crowd misty-eyed. Anil became emotional as he reminisced about the good times spent with Gulshan Kumar. “Koi bhi cheez aap dil se karo, woh chhoo jati hai. Gulshanji always believed in doing things straight from his heart. To him, music mattered more than money. Unke har cheez mein sangeet ka aabhas tha. I have been one of the few fortunate people who has worked with both Gulshanji and Bhushan,“ said Anil. As for the girls, it was a reunion of sorts. Sonam said, “Not many know that Tulsi and I are school friends. We were playmates. In school, she used to sing and I would participate in dramatics. We didn't come first every time, but that never stopped us from participating. She and Khushali look so pretty in the song. Life has come such a long way for us and I am happy to be here on their special day.“ Also present at the event were Gulshanji's wife Sudesh, his brother Krishan Kumar, along with composer Jeet and lyricist Manoj. As the event drew to a close, amidst tears and smiles, the Kumars and Kapoors posed for selfies together.
