THE JUNGLE BOOK has joined an elite of films from Hollywood. The film has grossed around 106 crore nett in 11 days and may possibly go to 150 crore nett. There have been five elite films from Hollywood which are All time Blockbusters and now The Jungle Book becomes the sixth. All Time Blockbuster Hollywood releases in India:
1. Jurassic Park (1994)
2. Titanic (1998)
3. Spider-Man 3 (2007)
4. 2012 (2009)
5. Fast & Furious 7 (2015)
6. The Jungle Book (2016)
Hollywood films started to be dubbed in the early 90's and it was JURASSIC PARK that put them on the map in India as it was among the top ten grossers of 1994.
THE JUNGLE BOOK is already the highest grossing Hollywood release in India and also the first film to cross 100 crore nett and with film to be around 115 crore nett in two weeks, the 150 crore nett is a real possibilty.
Hollywood has given a universal hit in India something which the Hindi film industry could not achieve in the first four months. Its shocking that even in a circuit like Bihar it may be the highest grosser as all Hindi releases have flopped there this year.
