THE JUNGLE BOOK had a 22 week run across theatres in India while no Hindi film has even managed to last ten weeks in the theatres this year. The fifth week figures of the film are the third highest ever after legendary films like 3 IDIOTS and GADAR. The sixth week goes even better with second highest figures of all time after GADAR. This film shows what a real content film can do as acceptance comes from all over as compared to Hindi content films which limit themselves to a minority audience and are talked about more than what they actually achieve. The first day to lifetime ratio is also more than the Hindi content films be it NEERJA, PINK or PIKU and here its not starting from a poor 4-5 crore level but more than double that. The lifetime collections of The Jungle Book are as follows.
Week 1 - 74,61,00,000
Week 2 - 48,10,00,000
Week 3 - 30,92,00,000
Week 4 - 17,51,00,000

THE JUNGLE BOOK is still continuing its phenomenal run and completed a 100 day run in a few cities last week. The film has grossed over 187 crore nett so far and along with SULTAN is the only other film to find good appreciation so far this year. The film has sustained better than all films in the last few years. The film has managed to run more than ten weeks which is rarity in business today. The film has collected 34 lakhs till now from its 11th week onwards and the last time a film managed anything like that was 3 IDIOTS which collected more than 50 lakhs nett. The fifth week figures of the film are the third highest ever after legendary films like 3 IDIOTS and GADAR. The sixth week goes even better with second highest figures ever after GADAR. The GROSS business of the film is 255 crore. The collections of The Jungle Book till date are as follows..

THE JUNGLE BOOK continued with incredible collections having the third highest sixth week collections of all time. The film was only behind GADAR and 3 IDIOTS. The highest grossing sixth weeks of all time are as follows.

2. 3 Idiots (2009) - 4.36 crore
3. The Jungle Book (2016) - 4.25 crore apprx
4. Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006) - 4.15 crore
5. Raja Hindustani (1996) - 3.21 crore
The total business of the film is around 181 crore nett plus and the film may still have another 2-4 crore nett to come. The footfalls of the film have crossed 1.75 crore.

THE JUNGLE BOOK had an unbelievable sixth weekend as it grossed 2.50 crore nett which took its lifetime business to around 179 crore nett. The figures were better than PK and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and not just their sixth weekends collections but also their sixth weeks.
The film had similar collections in sixth weekend as 3 IDIOTS which had grossed 2.50 crore nett in its sixth weekend way back in 2010. If we look at the sixth week figures of this year and then the gap is huge with AIRLIFT being the best of the 2016 releases with 15 lakhs nett in its sixth weekend.
THE JUNGLE BOOK will probably be the highest inflation adjusted grosser for Hollywood in India. TITANIC stands at around 174 crore nett on the 2015 ticket rate so on a 2016 ticket rate (at the moment it is up just 4% from the corresponding time last year) they will be very similar as THE JUNGLE BOOK still has some more legs to finish at around 183 crore nett.

THE JUNGLE BOOK had an incredible start to its sixth week as it grossed 55-60 lakhs nett on its sixth Friday. These figures are just unbelievable as hardly any films last this long. A look at the sixth week figures of some recent good grossers are below.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns - 1.75 crore
Bajrangi Bhaijaan - 1.49 crore
Bajirao Mastani - 1.26 crore
PK - 1.13 crore
THE JUNGLE BOOK will easily clear the sixth week figures of these films in its sixth weekend, some of them it will clear in just two days of its second weekend.

THE JUNGLE BOOK had another phenomenal week as it had the fifth highest fifth week in history. The highest grossing fifth weeks of all time are as follows.
1. 3 Idiots (2009) - 9.83 crore
2. Gadar - Ek Prem Katha (2001) - 7.18 crore
3. Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006) - 6.41 crore
4. Aashiqui 2 (2013) - 5.80 crore
5. The Jungle Book - 5.75 crore apprx
The total business of the film is around 176.50 crore nett and it may well be a 180 crore nett finish for the film and if not it will be very close. To finish as the fifth highest fifth week of all time is unbelievable and a top ten for the sixth week would be even more unbelievable.

THE JUNGLE BOOK created HISTORY by having the highest fourth week collections ever in India. The film grossed a huge 17 crore nett apprx in week four. The highest grossing fourth weeks now stand as follows.
1. The Jungle Book - 17 crore nett apprx
2. 3 Idiots - 15.95 crore
3. PK - 12.72 crore
4. Bajrangi Bhaijaan - 10.65 crore
5. Bajirao Mastani - 9.43 crore
The film has now grossed 171 crore nett in four weeks. The film has gone into week five with very strong weekday collections but a fifth week record should be impossible as the box office today just does not allow for such records to be set. But on the other hand it has surprised every week till now.

THE JUNGLE BOOK set an ALL TIME RECORD for the fourth weekend with 10 crore nett approx as it beat the fourth weekend business of 3 IDIOTS which was 9.50 crore nett approx. Shockingly its not even an Hindi film and is set a record which will stick for some time. When records fall from fourth week onwards its serious stuff. The approx business of the film till date has been as follows.
Week One - 74.25 crore
Week Two - 48.25 crore
Week Three - 30.50 crore
Weekend Four - 10.00 crore
TOTAL - 164.75 crore
The fourth week record of 3 IDIOTS may be a bit more difficult as the pattern of business has changed since 2009 with the weekend taking a larger share of the pie than the weekdays for the whole week.

THE JUNGLE BOOK phenomena continues in its fourth week as its fourth Friday gives it a chance of records in week four. The approx business of the film till date has been as follows.
Week One - 74.25 crore
Week Two - 48.25 crore
Week Three - 30.50 crore
Day 22 - 1.75 crore
TOTAL - 154.75 crore
The film is now competing for all time records and that too in the fourth week which is a true test of the content unless the opening was dull which it was not here. The film may set all time records for fourth weekend and week which includes all Hindi releases.

THE JUNGLE BOOK has had a huge third week grossing around 30 crore nett. The film has grossed around 153 crore nett in three weeks. The third week figure is by far the highest of the year beating the 11.33 crore nett of AIRLIFT. It is almost three times higher.
Even if we compare with all Hindi films rather than this just this year then it also compares very well. The only films that have collected more than THE JUNGLE BOOK are PK and 3 IDIOTS. Also with 3 IDIOTS its a close run think as that film was just a little over 30 crore nett. Now is the biggest test and can it set an all time record for week four.
The expected lifetime of the film goes up every week due to the way it trends. The film could go anywhere, even to 175 crore nett and above. The film has grossed more than all Hindi films barring twelve films.

Friday - 3,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 8,50,00,000
Monday - 2,75,00,000
Total - 21,25,00,000
The third week is heading for a 28 crore nett total which very few Hindi films have managed to reach. If these sort of holds continue it is possible that the film could even set an all time record in week four or five

THE JUNGLE BOOK continues to break all records for Hollywood releases and that too by distances. It is also beating records of most Hindi films. The third weekend business of THE JUNGLE BOOK is as follows
Friday - 3,50,00,000
Saturday - 6,50,00,000
Sunday - 8,50,00,000
Total - 18,50,00,000
The third weekend of the film is on par with a BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN with just PK and 3 IDIOTS ahead of it if we compare it with Hindi films. The film has now collected 141 crore nett and will cross 150 crore nett by the end of the week and should hit 165 crore nett.

THE JUNGLE BOOK has grossed a huge 47 crore nett in its second week to takes its total to 121 crore nett and its on the verge of beating all the Hindi films released this year. This will happen today as it crosses the 123 crore nett of AIRLIFT. In the second week AIRLIFT had grossed 28 crore nett while THE JUNGLE BOOK has grossed 19 crore nett more with 47 crore nett.
The second week figure is higher than all Hindi films barring six of them. There are places that have done as much business in the second week as they did in the first week. The drop week on week is just 35%. The film has really scored in Hindi version which is contributing close to 45% of its all India business. For most Hollywood films this figure is around 30%.
The film has done well across the board and recorded better business in B centres than all the Hindi films. There was a drop on the last day of the second week but if it resumes the pattern of last week on its 15th day then the film will hit 150 crore nett and this could be a total which may turn out very hard to beat in the first half of the year.

Monday - 5,00,00,000
Tuesday - 6,25,00,000
Total - 38,25,00,000
The business on Tuesday got advantage of a holiday in parts and the second week business of the film will be in the range of Blockbuster Hindi films like KICK and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI.

THE JUNGLE BOOK has joined an elite of films from Hollywood. The film has grossed around 106 crore nett in 11 days and may possibly go to 150 crore nett. There have been five elite films from Hollywood which are All time Blockbusters and now The Jungle Book becomes the sixth. All Time Blockbuster Hollywood releases in India:
1. Jurassic Park (1994)
2. Titanic (1998)
3. Spider-Man 3 (2007)
4. 2012 (2009)
5. Fast & Furious 7 (2015)
6. The Jungle Book (2016)
Hollywood films started to be dubbed in the early 90's and it was JURASSIC PARK that put them on the map in India as it was among the top ten grossers of 1994.
THE JUNGLE BOOK is already the highest grossing Hollywood release in India and also the first film to cross 100 crore nett and with film to be around 115 crore nett in two weeks, the 150 crore nett is a real possibilty.
Hollywood has given a universal hit in India something which the Hindi film industry could not achieve in the first four months. Its shocking that even in a circuit like Bihar it may be the highest grosser as all Hindi releases have flopped there this year.

THE JUNGLE BOOK grossed around 27 crore nett in its second week and has become the highest grossing Hollywood film in India. The film has beaten the 96 crore nett approx of FAST & FURIOUS 7 last year. The film has also crossed the 100 crore nett mark at around 101 crore nett.
The second weekend is huge and higher than all Hindi films released in 2016. AIRLIFT which had the highest second weekend grossed 28.75 crore nett in the whole second week. A feat which THE JUNGLE BOOK will achieve in just four days in its second week. The business is even more commendable as it came against a Shah Rukh Khan film FAN.
The film will also beat the lifetime business of all Hindi films released till date this year and it will no surprise if it challenges the 150 crore nett mark. The film is the first all India hit of the year. It will beat the business in most of the mass centres despite that having a mass star like Akshay Kumar starrer and THE JUNGLE BOOK being dubbed which is a hindrance in mass markets barring a few exceptions.

THE JUNGLE BOOK continued to smash records on the eighth day with collections around 7.50-7.75 crore nett which is just 25% less than day one and there was a big film like FAN released. The film will probably become the highest grossing Hollywood release in India in just two weeks.
The business of the film now is around 81 crore nett in eight days and in some of the mass centres, the collections on day eight were better than the first day. Even a circuit like East Punjab dominated by multiplexes collected better on day eight than the first day.
The eighth day collections are the best of year and the way the film is going it could be the highest grossing film of the year beating the Hindi films. AIRLIFT grossed 123 crore nett and THE JUNGLE BOOK could beat that though obviously FAN has been released this week and that could also beat the AIRLIFT figure.

THE JUNGLE BOOK has had an excellent first week of 73.50 crore nett with the collections on Thursday being better than day one and it was not as if day one was poor. It was a partial holiday on Thursday which pushed the collections to around 11 crore nett mark.
Basically the film has crushed the collections of films like NEERJA and KAPOOR & SONS in just one week. These Hindi films are hit films as they were well budgeted and liked by a small segment of the crowd. Its a different story in the media where its been said these films were loved and hugely appreciated but if that's the case what words are there to describe THE JUNGLE BOOK which has genuinely been liked by audiences across the nation
There screen counts are comparable as well with THE JUNGLE BOOK was released on 1500 screens which is same as KAPOOR & SONS while NEERJA was 1000 plus but got a bigger advantage of tax free so early in its run.
THE JUNGLE BOOK has smashed records of all Hollywood films in India and is cruising to be the first Hollywood release to cross 100 crore nett and be the highest grossing Hollywood release ever in India. There is Shah Rukh Khan's FAN releasing today which will affect collections no doubt but there is enough appreciation there for THE JUNGLE BOOK to continue to collect well over the next few weeks.

Sunday - 16,50,00,000
Monday - 7,50,00,000
Tuesday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Total - 54,75,00,000
The film is on course to become the first Hollywood film to cross 100 crore nett. Even though FAN will release this Friday, the trend suggests that THE JUNGLE BOOK can cross 100 crore nett

THE JUNGLE BOOK continues to shatter all records for Hollywood films in India as the film dropped just 25% from its first day. The first four day business of THE JUNGLE BOOK is as follows
Friday - 10,00,00,000
Saturday - 13,75,00,000
Sunday - 16,50,00,000
Monday - 7,50,00,000
Total - 47,75,00,000
The collections could come in a little higher on Monday as the South versions could be a bit stronger because the Hindi dubbed version has held very strongly. The film should cross 65 crore nett for the week and could go higher as Thursday is a holiday. The film is the first universally appreciated film of the year and surprisingly its not a Hindi film. The collections in many smaller cities are better than AIRLIFT on Monday.
