It's raining Pakistani actresses for Bollywood. After Mahira Khan who plays Shah Rukh Khan's begum in Raees and Sanam Teri Kasam leading lady Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar is all set to cross the border. She has been cast in a-yet-un titled film opposite Irrfan Khan which will be directed by Saket Chaudhary of Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Shaadi Ke Side Effects fame. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan.
"It's a slice-of-life comedy about the aspirations and struggles of Delhi's middle class. Irrfan gave his nod seven months ago, Saba came on board last month," says a source close to the development, adding that Saket and his co-writer Zeenat Lakhani has spent nearly a year-and-a-half writing the script. "The entire film would be shot in a startto-finish two-month schedule in Delhi which kicks off in August."
The 32-year-old-actreess has received a lot of accolades for her performance as Noor in the film Manto. The makers wanted a fresh face opposite Irrfan. "Saba's energetic and suits the role to the T," asserts the source, informing that she will be coming down to India in July to start her prep. "She will be doing some workshops and reading sessions with Saket. Irrfan will be joining them closer to the shoot," the source concludes.
The film's official spokesperson confirmed the news.
