Vicky Kaushal, who made a sudden impact in Masaan, followed by Mozez Singh's critically acclaimed Zubaan, will next be seen in Anurag Kashyap's Raman Raghav 2.0 in a completely different avatar.

"This role is a complete 360 degree change for Vicky who plays an intense, brooding cop. He had to prep a lot for the role. The entire film was shot in Mumbai," says a source close to the actor.

Speaking to Mirror earlier (February 16), the 27-year-old actor had revealed that when he had first presented himself to Anurag the filmmaker had pointed out that he looked like a good boy and he was not looking for a good boy. "So I locked myself in a room for five days and lived in darkness, without internet, my cell phone or any contact with people. A week later I auditioned again and bagged the role because this time, Anurag saw the fire in my eyes," the son of action-director and stuntman, Shyam Kaushal had revealed.

Anurag's next features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky in a cat-and-mouse chase. Nawaz is 'Psycho Raman', the 1960s serial killer on the prowl in Mumbai. He murdered over 23 people in an infamous killing spree. Vicky plays a police officer investigating the case. The film wrapped up in December and is slated for a summer release.

With Raman Raghav 2.0 Anurag returns to direction. His last release was the May 2015 Bombay Velvet, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. This will be a very different summer release from the period musical.
