Sandhya Mridul on love, relationships and her return to television
Neha Maheshwri Bhagat (BOMBAY TIMES; April 28, 2016)
Sandhya Mridul is returning
to the small screen with Nikhil Advani's show, two years after her brief
appearance in Private Investigator. The show in question is the Indian
adaptation of popular American series Homeland. She confirms, “Yes, I am
part of the show, but I am not at the liberty to talk about it.“ Ask
her why we don't see her much on TV and she replies, “I would love to
take up more shows as it's a great medium. People still remember me as
Kajal from Koshish, but back then I was spoilt as an actor working with
great directors. I have been offered several roles, but I don't like
the content. I want a role that makes the greedy actor in me wanting to
act. I want to take up roles that test
my acting chops and not just look pretty on screen.“
She is outspoken and carefree, but refuses to divulge details about who she is dating. She says, “I have never spoken about my personal life. I have not tried to hide anything as I don't care about the world. I am in a relationship but that's nobody's business to know about my personal life.“ Talking more about her understanding of love, Sandhya says, “It's a very important emotion and we as humans can't understand it till we die. Love is conditional for us. I have been in relationships and they all come and go for a reason. I don't understand the meaning of a 'forever' relationship. Each one of it brings something special to life and I have extracted the best even out of bad relationships. My kind of love is crazy and mad. It should be devoid of priority and conditions.“
