Wth 600 guests flying in from South Africa, UK, India and Dubai, 100 chefs from Rajasthan, 50 photographers and videographers, a team of 20 event managers, 100 dancers, singers and acrobats and over 20 Bollywood celebrities, one of the most extravagant, four-day desi wedding took place at Antalya's Mardan palace, a world heritage site, overlooking the Bosphorous river. Billionaire businessman-politician, Ajay Gupta, personally welcomed the A-list guests as son Kamal tied the knot with Palak Jain, daughter of Delhi-based businessman Ajay Jain.

On April 23, Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza, Parineeti Chopra, Neha Dhupia, Zareen Khan, Zayed Khan and Shruti Seth arrived with their respective stylists and designers to be welcomed with “Oye Punjabi“ playing live, dhols and a troupe of Spanish dancers. The bride and the groom, with their families had arrived last Saturday for a low-key engagement ceremony and booked a week-long stay at the palace.

“An India Gate-like structure was erected at the venue to welcome guests as they arrived for the sangeet and mehendi. Three hundred mehendi professionals were flown down and there were fireworks and dazzling shows,“ a guest informed Mirror.

During the day, there were luxury spa sessions and sightseeing tours to keep the wedding party engaged. Zareen chose to spend the day with horses and goats at a nearby farm, Neha and Shruti walked and sunbathed by the Bosphorous while Parineeti prepped up for her performance on April 25.

“The bride is a big Parineeti fan and the performance was planned as a surprise for her. Pari danced to a medley of her hits, from “Bol Beliya“ and “Jigar Da Tukda“ to “Zehnaseeb“. Mika Singh and Honey Singh crooned Punjabi tracks while Arijit Singh's turn was slow, romantic songs from Aashiqui, Tamasha and Fitoor and marked the couple's first dance too,“ added the guest.

The baraat had arrived on Monday night and the procession took an hour-and-a-half to the venue with the groom in a decorated carriage. The daawat boasted of cuisines from across the world including a live grill and bartenders performing fire tricks. It was a traditional Rajput wedding with the pheras taken in the presence of a pandit. It was followed by an all-nighter bash with much revelry led by Hrithik.
