News reports have said that
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who was shooting in London for his
August 2016 release Rustom, was detained at the Heathrow airport last
Wednesday because he didn't have the required work visa for the UK.
However, sources who were present there say that the news reports are exaggerated. The actor was detained for about half an hour because the computer at the UK Border Control didn't show his name immediately. A source told BT, “Akshay had a valid visa. Considering he has shot films across the globe, he would have hardly taken a chance of landing in a foreign country without the right paperwork. He was delayed for 25-30 minutes due to a technical snag.“ British airport authorities later apologised to him.
