When Mirror recently spot
ted rumoured former lovers, Rana Daggubati and Shriya Saran lunching in
the Capital, we instantly got in touch with the Drishyam actress. But
Shriya laughed off the dating rumours stating the two have been “good
friends for a really long time“ and were accompanied by a group of
friends in Delhi.
The 33-year-old-actress confesses that she is rather amused by the link-ups since she has never worked with the actor before. “Though I have worked in his father and his production earlier, I've never played a part opposite Rana. In fact, we haven't even seen much of each other's work,“ she adds.
“We were there to be part of our common friend Dia Mehta Bhupal's photography exhibition. It was Dia's birthday as well, so she had taken us all out for lunch to celebrate,“ asserts Shriya who has acted in multiple films down South, where Rana is a superstar. “So we have a lot of mutual friends. Rana is a dear friend, and there's nothing more to it,“ she retorts. After the luncheon the group prepped for the evening show. “It was a fabulous exhibition and I think Dia has done a great job. The party ended with a private dinner,“ says Shriya.
Rana, who is currently shooting for his trilingual Ghazi, a submarine-based war film had to fly out on the same day due to prior commitments. “We try to catch up once or twice a month,“ Shriya signs off.
