Holi is around the corner,
and everyone is gearing up for a fun-filled, masti bhari time. Among
them is Deepika Padukone, who is prepping for the festival of colours by
asking everyone to #KhulKeKheloHoli.
The actress says, “It's time for Holi, one of my favourite Indian festivals. I love it because it is all about having unadulterated fun with friends, family and even strangers. I remember celebrating the festival when I was a kid. I used to play Holi with friends from my building every year. I loved playing with colour and gobbling up the delicacies our mothers made. And of course, no Holi celebration was complete without music. It was all about getting together, laughing and enjoying with the people you love.“
She adds, “But over the last few years, the time we make to get together and celebrate this festival in its truest spirit is fading away. People are either busy or treat it like any other long weekend. They are also scared of damaging their hair and skin. It feels like we are losing the true, carefree spirit of the festival and that's what I miss the most. I wish we could go back to the simpler times and have fun together.“
To get people back in the festive mood, Deepika says she has a Holi message. “Celebrate the festival like how we used to in good ol' days and #KhulkeKheloHoli. I play Holi wholeheartedly, but ensure I generously oil my hair with Parachute Advansed. I also apply it on my skin. It gives me great protection so that I can play khul ke without any worries,“ she insists.
Who better than the Balam Pichkari girl to tell us how to enjoy Holi to the fullest! So, let's take her advice and reconnect with the festival once again.
