It's been all work and no play for Anushka Sharma the last few weeks. The 27-year-old actress has been shooting a song sequence in Mandawa and Nawalgarh in Rajasthan for Karan Johar's next directorial, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, also featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She returns to Mumbai on April 1 and within two weeks flies off to Punjab to kick off her second home production, Phillauri.

The title is derived from a small town in Punjab, Phillaur, and the romcom will roll on April 15, two days after Baisakhi. It marks the directorial debut of Anshai Lal, the assistant director of Dostana and Housefull. The feel-good love story also features Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma of Life of Pi fame.

Incidentally, Anushka's first home production, the Navdeep Singh-directed thriller NH10, released in March last year. She is also working towards getting her third production off the ground ­ a comedy that will be directed by Akshat Verma, the writer of Delhi Belly ­ which will also roll this year. Earlier, Anushka gave Holi festivities a miss to shoot for her upcoming wrestling drama and prep up for the home productions with script reading sessions.
