Singer Sonu Nigam is all set
to host a show, Baba Dhaam, with which he will travel to the 12
Jyotirlingas of Shiva, educating the devout about lesser known facts
about these pilgrim centres. He's done reality shows like Indian Idol and X Factor in the past, but welcomes the
idea of stepping out of a congested studio and
embracing the great outdoors for a change. “Earlier I had to just sit
and judge people, here I get to do some serious, spiritual stuff. I was
just thinking of doing a show like this
and it happened!“ he exults, promising to sing an aarti at the end of
every episode.
The singer further adds that he has always wished to do something related to Lord Shiva and is glad to have landed this opportunity. “My mother was a bhakt and would say I was Bholenath ka prasad. She passed away three years ago and I went into depression. I missed her a lot. That is when my sisters took me to Ananda resort in the Himalayas and my perspective towards life changed. That has been the most memorable trip of my life.“
He admits that he would love to go trekking but can't go climbing now because he is suffering from a knee problem. “And I want to visit Badrinath and Mansarovar Lake some day, they top my wish list,“ he smiles.
