Thirty months and five
countries... it's been a long, interesting journey for the film based on
Sachin Tendulkar's life. The last day of the shoot took place at
Shivaji Park recently and it was a quite an emotional moment for
producer Ravi Bhagchandka and the cast and crew as the master blaster
was present himself. As soon as Sachin reached Shivaji Park, he went to
the temple that he used to visit before going to his coach
Ramakant Achrekar's net. He also drank some tap water, exactly the way he
used to in those days. Sachin was on a nostalgic trip as he moved
around on the ground where he began his life's big innings.
The former Indian cricketer recounted how his brother Ajit Tendulkar first brought him to Shivaji Park for practice after noticing his batting skills while he was playing in their society. He narrated how Achrekar played an important role in shaping his cricketing career. Post the shoot, the crew captured an emotional moment with Sachin.
The yet-to-be-titled film, produced by 200 Not Out and helmed by award-winning director James Erskine, has captured lots of interesting moments from Sachin's journey. “We have recreated characters and situations from his life. The viewers will have a different experience with many never-seen-before moments from the legend's professional and personal life,“ says Erskine.
