Netizens went into a tizzy after rumours of Deepika Padukone being signed for a Brad Pitt movie started doing the rounds yesterday. The actress recently forayed into Hollywood with a Vin Diesel film, XXX The Return of Xander Cage, and is currently in Toronto for the shoot.

Says a source, “Deepika has bagged the role opposite Brad in a Hollywood romantic comedy. Last year proved immensely successful for her and going by this news, 2016 is set to be as big as, if not bigger than, 2015.” The actress, who was lauded for her performances in last year’s hits, Piku and Bajirao Mastani, took home the Best Actress trophy at almost every awards ceremony.

While we could not get a confirmation from Deepika’s end, a source close to her says, “After hearing the rumours, we tried contacting her but due to her hectic schedule and time difference between Canada and India (10.5 hours), she has not been able to revert. If it’s true, Bollywood will surely be proud of her.”
