When Sunny Leone told off a misogynistic interviewer on national TV recently, the video went viral and got her a new set of admirers for being so graceful and dignified under duress. One of these new-found fans was Aamir Khan, whose name had come up in the course of the cringe-worthy interview when the actress was asked if the Bollywood A-lister would ever work with her. “No, Aamir probably wouldn't want to work with someone like me,“ she had retorted candidly.

Aamir, who was filming his wrestler biopic, Dangal, in Ludhiana at the time, took to Twitter to voice his support, saying, “I think Sunny conducted herself with a lot of grace and dignity. I wish I could have said the same about the interviewer. Sunny, I will be happy to work wid you. I have absolutely no problems with your 'past', as the interviewer puts it.“

Now, Mirror has learnt that when the actor, who has been shooting in Delhi for the last 10 days, was informed that Sunny was in the city for a promotional event, he invited her and her husband, Daniel Weber, to his hotel for a lavish lunch comprising naans and sabzi topped with butter. “The conversation spilled over into evening tea before they called it a day. Aamir then extended an invitation to them to visit him on the sets the next day,“ reveals a source.

The trio spoke movies and Aamir once again told Sunny, who's been hailed as a “rockstar“ by Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Anushka Sharma in the wake of the incident, that he'd love to work with her. Meanwhile, she watched wide-eyed as he got into action for the camera. Later, he introduced her to the unit. “She obliged everyone with selfies and while leaving, gave him a warm hug,“ adds the source.
