The much-awaited Season 3 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi is all set to kick off today with a host of star attractions planned. All roads will lead to the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Vizag, where the event is scheduled to take place.

Aamir Khan will lend an emotional touch to the celebration through a patriotic rendition of the National Anthem. While Star Sports Pro Kabaddi has a blend of Indian and international players, the essence of Indianness in Kabaddi is emphasised through this patriotic celebration.

Aamir says, “Kabaddi is a purely Indian game, and I am happy to see the popularity it has been getting. Star Sports has been requesting me to sing the National Anthem since the first season and I am glad I finally managed to get the opportunity. It's a real honour!“

This special initiative will be followed with renditions by South star Rana Daggubati and Bollywood diva Aditi Rao Hydari over three days. An electrifying performance by V Company, a group of 30 talented dancers who won the dance reality show Dance Plus, has also been lined up. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, is expected on the inaugural day.

The league's opening match will see Telugu Titans take on the defending champions U Mumba. The caravan will see other exciting duals like U Mumba taking on the champions of the inaugural season, Jaipur Pink Panthers tomorrow.

Star Sports Pro Kabaddi will be televised live from January 30 on Star Sports 2 and Star Sports HD 2 in English, Star Sports 3 and Star Sports HD 3 in Hindi, Maa Movies in Telugu from 7.30 pm onwards; on Star Gold in Hindi and Suvarna Plus in Kannada from 7.50 pm onwards and on Star's digital platform, hotstar.
